How is everybody doing out there right now? Are you working from home? Are you still going to work because your job is essential? or are you currently unemployed?
I am not able to work right now. Our Salon Do or Dye Tx closed it’s doors two weeks ago I think. It’s hard to keep track of the days. I make myself write down what I do each day on my desk calendar so I make sure to be productive with this time. I am trying to be as positive as I can for myself but also for everyone on my team. Yesterday I had a little breakdown. I was thinking what good am I to the people I love if I can’t help them financially. Who am I if I can’t hustle? Who am I without working? Can anyone relate? That is so not true. I am pushing those Negative thoughts out and replacing them with truth. Today I am going to keep focusing on the things I can do for my friends and family and that is be supportive and just love them. That is most important.
The things that I have been doing to keep sane lately ///
Listening to worship music - it calms my soul and fills me with truth.
Have some what of a routine. Starting with washing my face first thing when I wake up and making sure I wash my face before I go to bed. Trying to make my night time regimen a habit. When we come out of this I want to look better and younger than ever. If you need skincare during quarantine CLICK HERE. R&F is the #1 Skincare Brand in the U.S. and North America.
Hair tutorials over @doordyebrandi /// and @doordyetx girls are doing hair tutorials everyday on stories. They are all saved under highlights (click the circles with their names on them)
I make lists. To do lists and I’m still working on my 300 list. Have you watched Steve Harvey’s 300 list clip? It’s so good. I highly recommend watching and making your list.
Clean and organize. I even signed up for Apartment Therapy’s Spring Cleaning.
Get outside to jog, walk, or bike - its like the 80’s /90’s when I was growing up before social media and everyone is outside living life, you kind of forget whats happening for that time.
Hair Product Orders!!! I am so thankful for these. It keeps Grace and I busy and it helps our Salon so much. As of right now we are taking orders through TEXT and DMs from Instagram. We deliver to the clients that live nearby and we ship to rest. It’s actually fun for me. So if you are reading this and need KEVIN MURPHY hair products, a new blowdryer, wave iron, curl wand… you know where to find me! @doordyebrandi
Our new Salon Website is just about done and I’m really excited about that. I can’t wait til that is up!!!
Working on Bueno. Taking new pics. I want to update blog and store.
My friend Joseph and I have been having fun branding SURF HAIR CLUB
Thankful for Luxury Hairstylist online mentorship program right now /// Every week you get a new lesson to take your business to the next level. Use my code LUXEYBRANDI300 for a discount.
Eating healthy. Started this 4 days ago. I was binge eating at first and then feeling horrible. When I eat better I feel better mentally and physically.
Shower. Fix my hair. Put on some mascara. Dress in cute comfy clothes. Like THIS.
Watch funny, light or heartfelt movies or shows. I can’t really handle anything dark lately /// Anne With an E on Netflix (remember Anne of green Gables) I loved it. RIDE on Prime video is cute. Bethany Hamilton:UNSTOPPABLE on Netflix is so inspiring and amazing actually. Grace and Frankie on Netflix is hilarious. MOMENTUM GENERATION on HBO - the story of all the surfers we grew up watching. Go Watch It!
One Face time a day, I hate face time especially now because I have a fever blister. But I check in on friends and family. Lots of group texts going. ZOOM meetings.
Try to find out how I can help someone during this time. My friends just launched their online boutique ATRATE go check them out on Instagram and subscribe to their mailing list. It’s the little things that make a big difference. Follows, likes, shares, and comments on small businesses mean THE WORLD right now. Show some love. It’s free.
PRAY. READ THE WORD. LISTEN TO SERMONS.
These are just some things that are making me sane. I still have the occasional break down for sure. But we gotta do what we can right now to stay positive. We really are in all this together. Replace those negatives thoughts with Truth. Turn the news OFF! It just creates anxiety. Sure check it from time to time but do not keep it on all day. We are going to get through this. You are stronger than you think. I’d love to hear what you are doing during this time at home or work. Lets stay connected. Love you.
