Yesterday, we woke up at 5:30 am and headed to the beach to see our beloved Bacquets compete in the Johnny Kicks Cancer Competition. We were very excited to spend a day in the sun, sweating and cheering, but once we arrived, we realized we were not properly prepared. For the first time in our area this year, it was cold. Thank God Dan and Kassi were able to bring us hoodies. Bonus, Dan brought matching sweatshirts, so introducing ourselves was a fun and tricky game. It was a perfect Sunday spent watching the kiddos surf and playing with/chasing the babies on the beach.
You can read Johnny's story HERE. It's difficult to read, but I really encourage you to. We were touched by this surf community in Galveston and the stories of strength and folks pulling together for one another.
