Driving to Terlingua from Marfa was so beautiful. Everything is picture worthy but like always you can't ever capture just how awesome your surroundings really are. We seriously would pull over every couple miles to take more pictures. This group of friends was perfect for this trip because no one ever got tired or annoyed with the cameras.

Terlingua (Kelly's favorite spot in TX) is a ghost town that was once a small mining town. Now people just pass through on their way to Big Bend National Park or they come like we did for an Adventure. Some of the activities people come for are hiking, mountain biking, hiking, rafting, motorcycling, and KARAOKE! Well, maybe others don't come for the Karaoke but we are always down to belt out our lungs! We rented a house in the middle of nowhere, with no physical address and had the loudest night of our lives. I think we all lost our voices because this was the one time we could scream out into the open sky as loud as we wanted without worrying about terrifying anyone or causing a noise violation. It felt good. Really good. Have you ever done it?

I highly recommend adding Terlingua to your places to visit. Our Hashtag (Instagram) for this trip was #MarfaWeddingFiesta #SSMRT #HeadedtoMarfa #OOCOMG if you wanted to see more.

We all Headed to Padres our first night in Marfa to start the Celebration of Nikou and Travis. This was like the Rehearsal without the Rehearsal. Instead we danced, sipped on drinks, and danced some more. The Dancing pics are all blurry, sorry not sorry. Once we got hungry we left and ended the night at the Grilled Cheese Place (if you've been to Marfa, you know the one), we are obsessed! Who doesn't like eating in a lit up school bus? I remember us having really inappropriate conversations while stuffing our faces and having eavesdroppers near by. We blew some strangers minds. All I know is our bellies were sore from laughing so hard.

About Nikou, Travis and the Marfa Wedding Fiesta///
We met in architecture school. He stalked me but he denies it. Both of us have been to Marfa, but only with friends, not together.

Travis really wanted to have the wedding in Marfa, a couple weeks later, I gave in and agreed. We really wanted a low key wedding. We planned the entire event without going there so there were many last minute changes once we arrived a couple days before... like the ceremony site. We had guests travel from Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Nashville, LA, NYC, and even Toronto Canada!

With the help from our family and friends, we had a great event. Travis' aunt is a food stylist and was really excited to help with decorations. Travis' father spent months working on the best margarita recipe, now coined the Marfarita. Our mutual friend Cate got ordained so she could marry us. My brother's wife, Amory Tabaee, agreed to do our photography in exchange, Travis designed her website. Our best friend Bridget flew in from NYC and helped with many of the details. And Kelly and Brandi drove us around our entire Honeymoon (our car broke down in Marfa)!

When we arrived to the Compound House, we noticed the awesome abandoned gas station next door. We decided to have the ceremony there, but kept it secret from our family, because we knew our mothers would freak out. The only peoplel who knew were Cate, Amory, Bridget, and us.

We didn't have a bridal party but wanted to include our siblings in the ceremony. Travis and I wrote our own vows, so we decided his sister Carly would hand him his, and my brother Nigel would hand me mine. And his brother Taylor to hand us our rings. But, no one told Taylor he was responsible for the rings! Great moment during the ceremony.

Some other people who helped with our wedding (which is the main reason why it was under $5k): Travis' childhood friend Dustin brought his guitar and played our ceremony music. My cousin Laura assisted Amory with photography.
